 Topic: 2010 Tradewind Schedules? Posted: 12 July 2010 at 6:19pm |

It might be a bit early, but are the flight times and fares on the Tradewind Website current and updated for the 2010 season? Also, are the prices listed (395/495/595) round-trip or one-way? Always planning the next trip....November (Thanksgiving holiday USA) in this case.
Thanks!

I think the fares are one way . . . our resident expert, however, is Second Star -- especially as a Thanksgiving SBH traveler!

And if your pocketbook can handle the cost, it is worth every penny!! Tradewind carried us from Puerto Rico, after a few days enjoyment at the Ritz Carlton, to St. Barth's, this past March. They called us at the hotel to set our timetable, met us personally at the airport in Puerto Rico, and hand carried us to SBH on a gorgeous flight that alleviated stress from SXM transfer. I never carried a suitcase, a passport, a carry-on satchel or transfer papers; and when we arrived in St. Barth's we went directly to our rental car while the folks at Tradewind whisked our luggage into our car. It was the most divine way to begin our vacation, and we were very grateful for their service. Just another terrific vacation service from this website.

Agree, Tradewind convenience made last November's trip painless, a perfect start and finish to island bliss.
Hopefully AA will add some more flights to San Juan next season.

I wish. We have booked Tradewind for next year but can't get to SJU from Texas early enough to make the trip in one day. We have to fly to SJU and spend the night. Good thing about that, though, is that we will be on island early the next day.

It is strange that AA has 2 flights a day from DFW-SJU -- hub to hub -- when Continental has 2 flights a day from Houston as well in the Summer, 3x a day in the winter!

I'm booked on Tradewind for my November trip. I haven't booked April yet.

stbarthlover, we're also in TX and have to do the same. Spending the night in San Juan and getting in early is worth it - by noon, we've checked into the villa, been to the grocery, and are eating lunch somewhere.

Getting there mid-morning and having a leisurely lunch on the island sounds much better than arriving late in the day after getting out of bed at 4:00 a.m. and spending 12 hours of flying and fighting airports. We have made twelve trips down since 1999, each time going through Juliana and flying either on Winair or SBC and have never had to spend the night in St. Maarten because of the plane (although we did one time have to charter a SBC plane with some other folks because Winair decided not to fly the last several flights of the day), but SXM is always stressful to me. I'm looking forward to trying Tradewind.

Barring something unforseen, we'll never go through SXM again. You're going to love tradewinds.
