   Topic: Okay, who is ready for another trip countdown?

Since there seem to be a lot of countdown threads going on in the forum these days, where each and every one brings up feelings of jealousy in theblakefish,  I just glanced at the calendar and realized that I have less than one week until my trip begins!  WHOOOOOP!!  Next Thursday, a quick jaunt to SJU to have one night with some friends there, three days in Vieques to see the awesome beaches there, the old navy bunkers and bombing range, the bio-luminescent bay, and many many beers, one night in SXM due to strange flight schedules (thanks for nothing, AmericanAirlines  ) and then....ah....I just got a whiff of the wind blowing in from Gustavia Harbor when I step off the ferry next Monday morning...the taste of the early-morning pasteries when I arrive at Salines Garden at 9am  , and the feel of the water at Plague de Governour when I jump into the cool waters of my second home at 10am!  , The Fermier sandwich at Le Jardin for lunch followed by a plunge in the pool and a quick siesta, then my annual ritual of self-realization at Plague de Salines in the afternoon....finished up, of course, by probably the best meal of the year at Restaurant X and many drinks at Bar Y. Maybe listen to some tunes at Tom Beach for the music fest in the late evening? Who Knows?  Who cares?  How's about not scheduling a thing except when I have to be back at the airport? Not this traveler! Here I come!!!! Any suggestions for preparations? News? I have already looked at my past photos 3x this morning...c'est la vie.

Well, now I'm jealous! My next trip is still months away. Waaaaaaaaaaah! Isn't the anticipation great when you really are close? Have a great time and be sure to post reports so we can get jealouser and jealouser.

Just so you know, when you go sit on your rock and look East, it's Mauritania, 3000 miles away, on the West coast of Africa, that you're looking towards.
Do your eyes drift a little to the right, a touch South of East? Hidden way over the horizon are the Cape Verde islands, "only" 2500 miles away.

sadly to say we have two countdowns....Monday we leave SBH with tears in our eyes and then have to countdown until the 27th of November until our return...can't believe that 16 days have flown by so quickly .....one more day

Sorry to hear you guys have to go back so soon, Henry. It really doesn't seem like you have been there that long. Have a safe trip home and a safe and fun trip next time.

SS, and as I look to the Cape Verde islands, I see a tropical disturbance that is expected to become Tropical Storm Collin in a few days. Let's hope that the forecasts hold true and it steers far North of SBH this week....

Oh, Oh, OH! Just 6 more days until Akron, OH, 14 days til Sharon PA, and then it's Buffalo, NY bound for me. And a couple of Clevelands.  Pittsburgh next month. 
You guys got the life! Warm up those loungers and bar stools for the rest of us!

Hang in there! I still haven't finished posting my trip reports from last week! We had a bit of a laptop battery issue, hence my silence from Wednesday forward!!!
And Blakefish....if you are not in SBH until next Monday, don't worry about TS Collin. That bad boy will be well off the coast of the Carolinas by the time you roll yourself into Saline.

Very High! Flight leaves for Dallas and the SJU in three hours, I haven't even gotten my suitcase out yet, I am wondering where my swimsuit even is, but I have money, passport, and my iPod, so I might roll with just that! I will continue my updates from the Trip Reports forum from here on out. The time has come...WOOOOOOOOOO....Cheers!

Have to say, that's one tempete tropicale I wouldn't mind being on-island for!
